Biographical information

I am independent research group (IRG) leader “NLP for the Humanities” at TU Darmstadt, leading the Natural Language Learning Group.

I hold a doctoral degree in Economics from Goethe University Frankfurt. I also hold a M.A. (Magister Artium) in Computational Linguistics and Economics from Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg and a Diploma (Diplom) in Mathematics from the same university. From April 2014 until February 2016, I was a Post-doc at the Text Technology Lab in the CS department of Goethe University Frankfurt. From March 2016 to December 2018, I was a Post-doc at UKP lab working on Deep Learning for Argumentation Mining. Currently, I work on evaluation metrics for MT and summarization and various problems in the context of humanities and social sciences.
