KogWis 2018 will be held in Darmstadt, Germany, and invites submissions of extended abstracts on current work on cognitive science. Generally all topics related to cognitive science are welcome. Contributions that address the focus of this meeting, that is, computational cognitive science are particularly encouraged. Computational approaches to cognitive science emphasize formalizing adaptive and intelligent behavior and have strong ties to machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Call for Presentations and Posters

Accepted abstracts will be published in the online conference proceedings. All accepted contributions must be presented at the conference. So at least one author must register by the early registration deadline or the contribution will not be included in the program.

The best submissions to KogWis 2018 will be selected for oral presentation at the conference.

Presentations and Posters: Length and Formats

The presentations in the main track will have a total length of 20 minutes. Please prepare for max. 15 minutes talk and min. 5 minutes questions.

The posters can be presented in both poster sessions (Monday, 3 September 2018, 15:30-17:30 & Wednesday, 5 September 2018, 17:00-19:00). Poster size shall be A0 on end (hochkant) i.e. 841 mm (width) x 1189 mm (height).

Notification of acceptance (presentations or posters): Monday, 28 May 2018

Submission of final abstracts: Monday, 02 July 2018

Early registration deadline: Monday, 02 July 2018

PhD Student Workshop Deadline: Monday, 23 July 2018

Submission of final abstracts:

Accepted abstracts will be published in the online conference proceedings. In order to be able to publish the abstracts in the conference proceedings we need you to prepare the abstracts according to the following guidelines:

  • The complete abstract is no longer than 450 words
  • References are numbered and referred to in square brackets (e.g. [1])
  • Full references are given at the end of the abstract and are included in the word count of 450 words
  • Figures are not allowed; the abstract is just text
  • Use the following template to prepare your abstract in docx format
  • Update your abstract and take reviewers' comments into account
  • Login to EasyChair
  • Choose “proceedings author (Abstracts)” as your role (not “author”).
  • Upload your updated abstract as docx (top right “upload new version”)

Deadline for submission of accepted abstracts in the format given above is Monday, 02 July 2018.
